Tell me, did you survive the holidays? If you have been following along with me on social media, you know that this holiday season had its ups and downs. With all of the things that happened for our family in 2022, I was feeling pretty lonely and didn’t have much Christmas spirit. I was thinking the kids and I were going to keep things low-key and easy because I really didn’t have the bandwidth to do much of anything. But in the end, we made a full-blown mini Hallmark movie. Crazy how things change so drastically! The season ended up having an overpouring amount of Christmas spirit so I wanted to share the biggest (and best) thing I learned this holiday season.
I love living in an area that has warm weather, but it doesn’t always feel like Christmas this time of the year. There is just something about all those Christmas movies and family photos that make you feel like you need to have chilly weather and snow for it to really be Christmas. I will be honest, snow is magical but you just have to know how to make your home feel like Christmas in a warm climate.
Are you an over-the-top holiday decorator? Or do you prefer adding subtle home decor with the changing seasons? I’ve been both types of decorators. Once, I created the Great Hall from Harry Potter in my dining room for the holidays. It was over-the-top and awesome! While this year I’ve been leaning towards simpler holiday decor. Well… except for the lights outside, that is a whole different story. Have you been watching the story unfold? Learning how to switch up holiday decor with pillows has been a game-changer for me. So naturally, I’ve got to share all my secrets!
Giving gifts can be so hard to do, especially if you are trying to find a gift for a DIY girl like me. I promise we don’t mean to be difficult! We just know what we like and tend to figure out how to make the things we want. With that said, don’t worry! I’ve put together some of my favorite things in order to create a gift guide for the home improvement girl.
The weather is changing and the holidays are coming! But, let’s be honest, switching out decor can feel overwhelming and expensive. Instead of adding stress to the holiday season, you just need to know how to update decor for the holidays. The keyword here is UPDATE! You don’t have to switch everything in your home to give off the ultimate holiday vibes. This year I’m focusing on small ways to make an impact.
