LOFT PLAYROOM REVEAL! Finished up the ikea besta h LOFT PLAYROOM REVEAL! Finished up the ikea besta hack today with custom doors and a $30 DIY long top…and those hanging plants outside are still making my heart skip a beat! This playroom gives me a little spark of happiness…and I’m just feeling grateful today. I am grateful to create beauty. I am grateful to see potential. I am grateful for kids who imagine, play, and will cover this floor in toys😉. I am grateful for faux plants. I am grateful to share these transformations and my journey with YOU. DIY playroom window upgrade (swipe). AKA: If you d DIY playroom window upgrade (swipe). AKA: If you don’t like your view…CHANGE IT! Planters hanging outside a 2-story window is a little odd, but in the best most magical and unexpected kinda way🤣…right? *Also, removing the shutters and painting the window black (and adding grids) was a game changer🙌🏻. **Painted the mural of @colleenelizabeth_art a couple years ago! Now…do you agree with outside? Or were you TEAM INSIDE???
TABLE finished!!! Which makes this kitchen ACTUALL TABLE finished!!! Which makes this kitchen ACTUALLY ACTUALLY finished! The DIY $200 table dupe of the gorgeous $4200 version (swipe), is the last touch for this almost year long kitchen reno. WHEW! Now who wants to build a table? Better yet…what are you going to cook for me in this kitchen? (cause we all know I ain’t cookin🤣).
$4200 table…DIY version for $200?! Yes please🙌🏻. And I was able to customize it for my small space. Not gonna lie, I was intimidated by this sucker…but now I am so proud. I mean, that top is 4 boards and looks almost seamless! Now to pick the stain color…deciding between light, medium warm, or a black or white… Thoughts?🤔
Hallway done (swipe)! But was it all worth it?…t Hallway done (swipe)! But was it all worth it?…the shiplap that is almost entirely covered…the giant art frame I made up and the frustration while hanging it…the non-wired lights (magic puck lights🙌🏻)…? I say YES! WORTH IT! and to think that this hallway space has been entire forgotten for 5 years, and is now such a relaxing focal point and it pulls together everything downstairs so well (swipe to see all the angles!). Did you see it with the cabinets? With the fireplace? Looking into the kitchen? At night? 😍😍😍 *my helper insisted on getting in the photo with me🤣. I will post her outtakes tonight😉. She is somethin else🤣.

OPERATION: giant planter to block ugly view…comp OPERATION: giant planter to block ugly view…complete! I didn’t realize how much that cinderblock view out my windows was making me sad…until I built THIS to cover it up! Total game changer. Yes, I painted wood and added fake plants (with REAL dirt) which upset some of you, BUT we can still love each other…because we ALL can relate to the floating basketball hoop in the pool(🤣see stories). Stay tuned for stories to see how you can see this view from practically EVERYWHERE in my house!
Operation garage SNAZZY-ify complete, and just in Operation garage SNAZZY-ify complete, and just in time for the kids to feel a little inspired going back to school. We battle a lot of anxiety in this house, me included…and this quote really spoke to me for how I want to set the tone for them for this year. It’s not until we actually take that leap (and potentially fall)…in order to realize we can fly. Painting this giant quote wall and redoing my floors was just the refresh I needed (I have wanted to epoxy my floors #sponsored since we moved in 6 years ago!). To my kids: I know you are scared. You haven’t been in a normal class for a year and a half. I know how hard you work to battle and manage your anxiety, and I’m so proud of how brave you are. You’ve dealt with a LOT of changes this past year. Remember, the bravest people are those who are scared and STILL try. Reach out to the kid by themselves on the playground and be a friend. I know YOU feel like it’s hard to make friends, but chances are others are nervous too and you can be THAT friend to others. Be kind and find things in common. You got this! Love, Mom And for me…I spend so much time in my garage, and it’s always been such an eyesore. Now that I have these @rustoleum EpoxyShield floors, I feel like it gives me more creative space to breathe and create! Totally worth it, and I am so excited with how they turned out! #prideinthemaking

(Swipe) The elements were against me today(see stories😳)⚡️💨💧, and you saw me TICKED…but I still don’t regret removing the shutters and changing the windows to black with this super cool pvc trim. Sorry for those of you TEAM shutter friends that I upset by removing them, you forgive me? You at least feel bad for me after watching my stories…right?🤣🤣🤣 Now to redo the rest of the windows…only 7 more in this room😳.

Totally the right call to extend that brick wall alllllll the way from the kitchen to the fireplace right? Right. 😉 *and YES, my kids got tired of me taking photos and told me they were just gonna stay (for that last photo)🤣.

KITCHEN reveal part 3: the view that made me cry😭. Those shelves you guys!!! How was I on the fence about them??? They are the perfect finale to this kitchen. Standing from this view and seeing that stormy backsplash, the @smegusa range, the soft fluffy brick, the painted black windows, the custom island, the DIY hood, the shelves…I love it. Every detail. Deep breath. What’s your favorite feature? And can you spot the funny thing I added???
