Ripped out the thin shelves for the THICKER...Did we make the right call??? (Swipe for thin and BEFORE) If you’ve been watching stories, you know that I am full of controversial decisions coming up...like painting my windows black and adding brick😳. Trust me...I think🤣🤣🤣.

SHELVES IN...or are they? (swipe!) Of course RIGHT after we installed these, Marco (my marble fabricator) said “oh we should have made them as thick as your countertops! We have more marble, want to do it...?”

WHAT DO I DO??? Keep or make it 1 3/4 thick??? My brain is so tired from making decisions.

BE STILL my soul...the backsplash is in😍😍😍. These stormy, billowy clouds took my breath away when I first saw them...I think I even cried I thought this marble slab was so beautiful😭. Can’t believe this art piece is finally in the space, and I am so glad I went with my gut. I LOVE it. So much. Thank you for being excited with me! Next up, can you picture a marble shelf to the left and right of that hood???

Can you believe that is actually a fridge disguise

Can you believe that is actually a fridge disguised in there??? and that this is the same space (swipe)??? Neither can I! (The camo was a total unintentional added disguise🤣). My brain hurts from all these measurements, but I am so proud. For real, this was hard🤣. I wanted a custom built-in look...and I think I may just have pulled it off!

Now we need this dang marble backsplash!!! What do you think??? Let’s make a deal. How about I host and you cook?

UMMM...this hood is lookin’ fiiiiine! See those curves??? It’s my birthday present to myself🎂🤣.(Swipe for hood progression plus the Angela age progression😉). Custom hood for the win...and puka shell necklaces for the win right? (Also that is me 10 years ago building my first ever piece of furniture!)

Here’s to age 36! I have decided that 36 is way better than 26...I am doing what I love, am more confident in who I am, feel like I’ve truly found my friends, and feel like I am so excited about the future! It was a happy coincidence that I’m traveling today to meet up with some of my favorite humans for a girls trip!

HOOD PROGRESS! We still need corners, mud, and the finish...but I love it! This before angle comparison is crazy to me (swipe!). Now to decide on the finish...plaster, Roman clay (like my cement fireplace), limewash, or just paint...and can YOU EVEN with this new @smegusa double oven? I’m kinda too afraid to cook on it since it’s so beautiful. I specifically wanted the 48 inch Portofino Range so that I could have this big hood proportionately over it, and I think the scale works perfectly!😍 (I also love the 5 burners and griddle on top and that’s it’s eco-friendly).

COUNTERS IN (that I helped make! Swipe for video of the beautiful process). And just like that...this kitchen is coming together! What a dream this week was...getting to be a part of the building the countertops was such an unexpected and magical experience. I have such respect and almost a reverence for the work that goes into creating and making beautiful things...and now every time I look at these counters, I know that I helped make them! What an honor...and I have Marco to thank for allowing me to be a part of it.

Celebrating progress! I was feeling discouraged today and how slow my kitchen reno is coming along (swipe for before)...but after I looked at the progress picture, I realized HEY, that IS a lot of progress! Isn’t that how life goes? It’s hard to see the progress when your trudging through the middle of it. It isn’t until you look back at the before that you realize...you’re actually a bad A😉😂❤️!

DIY DEEP LESSON: Always take the dang before picture so you can see your progress😉

My story. DIY saved me when I was in my darkest moments. When life felt completely OUT of my control...I took control and DID something! Building, creating and transforming was and is my therapy. Sharing my passion with all of you is an absolute honor. I LOVE this. My hope is by following me...you not only feel brave enough to transform your spaces, but come away feeling some hope...and light...and joy too. Thank you for being here❤️.

With all that DEMO, you totally can’t even see us right😂?! (Swipe for epic PINK PANTHER reenactment...father daughter style😂). Reminding myself right now that it always looks worse before it looks better right???

What a privilege it is for me to get to do projects with my dad! I feel pretty lucky in my adult years to have grown a whole new side of our relationship through working on projects together(we only started doing this 2 years ago)! I love how well we work together. If you watched him in stories...you’ll see that he is the calm to my storm😂, always unphased by my chaos, and patiently letting me lead while finding quiet teaching moments along the way. Thanks dad❤️

FINALLY FINISHED! I am so proud of these before and afters, but more importantly...it’s all about THIS GIRL. Having her watch me through the whole process and see what mama can build...that was the best part. Did you know she actually asked me yesterday to also build a bridge across her room so she could walk in the sky??? I love that she has the confidence in me to build that, and that she is brave enough to even dream it❤️. We can do hard things guys. And being brave doesn’t mean doing it perfectly. It means trying...even when we feel a little scared. Especially when we feel scared. And remember, someone is always watching😉.

To my little shadow...dream big baby girl! And I’ll always be there to cheer you on❤️.

UPPER CABINETS done🙌🏻, I just have to repaint them😂 (swipe for before). I know there aren’t doors yet, but use your imagination...see how different this area looks?! I feel like building the cabinets to the ceiling gives it a total custom designer look...I love it! (Even if I did almost lose my cell phone forever between the cabinets😂...see stories).

I feel like painting those scallops by hand was worth it, but my back is killing right now...not going to lie😂. And the hero of the job was my favorite @benjaminmoore paint. THIS. I love this (swipe)❤️. This was such a special project for me. I wanted to thank you all for being so kind while I created this. There was something about building at night in the garage by myself with just the silence and my tools...that gave me such peace. Thinking about this event...what it meant...and what it means to me now. It’s an honor to be able to create something that can be even a small token of gratitude for such a spectacular event.
