2-Day Laundry Glow-Up

A newly renovated laundry room with an LG washer and dryer, green cabinets hanging on the wall, and a picture that reads, You glorious, beautiful mess.

Do you have a space in your house that is in desperate need of a makeover, but you don’t have the time to spend weeks committing to a major reno? If so, I’ve got an inspo post for you!

My laundry room desperately needed a little upgrade, so I decided to give it a 2-day laundry glow-up! Best of all? It only took me a weekend to complete! This space looks totally transformed with a new LG washer and dryer, fresh cabinet doors, and some artwork hung on the wall. I’ve never been so excited to do laundry!

The Before

The Before picture of a laundry room with white walls, dark brown stained cabinets on the walls hanging about the washer and dryer.

My small laundry room was boring and uninspired. It had dark brown stained cabinets with silver handles which is totally not my vibe. The whole room lacked anything exciting, so I was excited to turn them into something I love.

My washer and dryer also definitely needed an upgrade. My old dryer would not dry my clothes and one time I had to leave on a trip wearing wet jeans and packing wet clothes! Not fun. The white walls were bare and needed some artwork hung up to help make the space a bit more upbeat. Just updating these three things created the 2-day laundry glow-up I’ve been dreaming of!

The After

So pretty, right? I turned my laundry room into a space I love just with paint, new cabinet doors, new LG appliances, and some fun artwork!

I have more plans for this laundry room, like changing out the flooring, adding a new light fixture, and possibly installing wallpaper. But for now, this little update is just what this space was needing.

Elements of the 2-Day Laundry Update

Let’s chat about the things that helped take this laundry from a boring closet to a place where I’m actually excited to do laundry (well, at least as excited as someone can get while doing laundry!).

Cabinets

First up for this remodel was new cabinets. And the best thing about this makeover? I didn’t have to replace any of the cabinet boxes that were already in the laundry room! I simply refaced them and then painted the cabinet box to match the new doors.

The trick to renovating your cabinets in a day or two is adding a fresh coat of paint and refacing. Refacing is when you replace only the cabinet door and hardware rather than ripping out your entire cabinet box and starting from scratch.

My favorite company for this project is Nieu. I’ve worked with them on several projects when refacing cabinets and they always turn out so beautifully. Their custom-made cabinet doors fit perfectly with the boxes you already have and can easily match the Sherwin-Williams paint color you want to use as well!

I went with these Nieu x Angela Rose Slim Shaker cabinet doors in the custom color Caldwell Green. I also picked out some black round knobs to pair with them for the perfect, modern update to my laundry room cabinets.

In addition to swapping out the doors on my cabinets, I added an additional cabinet box to the end of my cabinets already in the room to finish them off and have the cabinets run all the way to the wall. After that, I painted the boxes to match the doors, added the new black knobs, and the cabinets were done. GORGEOUS.

I walk into my laundry room and just stare at my beautiful new cabinets. They’re perfect and add so much color to this space!

LG Washer and Dryer

A new washer and dryer have been on my list for quite a while. I’ve really been struggling with my front-load washer, and my dryer has NOT been drying my clothes well. It was definitely time for an upgrade to a reliable washer and dryer!

There is so much I could say about my LG washer and dryer. Not only do they look super sleek and clean, but the built-in technology makes my laundry day a breeze.

I’m probably most excited about my new LG 5.0 cu. ft. Top Load Enery Star Washer. I’ve tried front-load washers in the past, and they’re just not my favorite. This LG top-load washer allows me to do huge loads of laundry with 8 different washer programs to ensure all my different clothes get cleaned just right.

My new dryer is an LG 7.4 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Dryer that is Wi-Fi enabled. The large capacity is great for packing it full of clothes so you can dry more clothes in less time. And if you need to refresh your clothes quickly in between washes, the TurboSteam function is the absolute best.

Artwork

Last up on this quick weekend glow-up was to add a little artwork to brighten up the room.

I found a fun piece of artwork that matches my vibe perfectly. I put it in this solid oak wood frame to add some warmth to the room, and it turned out great. It says “You glorious, beautiful mess” in bright red. I thought it was fitting to hang it in the laundry room and it is the perfect piece to pull together my 2-day laundry glow-up.

A quote in a frame that says, You glorious, beautiful mess.

I have even more plans for this laundry room, but for now, I’m super happy with how much more inviting the space feels. Oh, and my new washer and dryer are amazing, and wash and dry my clothes so fast and efficiently!
