I drew out the plans for this wall on some graph paper, and then adjusted it slightly as I went. It was actually way easier than board and batten. How to DIY a Board and Batten Wall: Dos and Don’ts

Build a Modern Barn Door like Joanna Gaines

I’m so excited to share my modern barn door tutorial with you! I wanted a barn door, but all the DIY options I found were for rustic barn doors…and I wanted a modern one. So, when I saw a picture on Joanna Gaines’ instagram of this gorgeous door I knew I needed to have it, and that I could make one! So I busted out my pencil and designed a modern barn door for $120. And with this $69 barn door hardware, the whole door total came to under $200!

Easily Build a Floating Shelf

This is the shelf tutorial you need! I love the look of floating built-in shelves, but most tutorials have shelves that look very bulky and are at least 3 inches thick. I looked and looked for the perfect way to make a THIN 1.5 inch floating shelf, and liked the ideas from Young House Love’s tutorial. So, with a few changes, I gave my thin floating shelves a try in my bathroom (where if I totally messed it up…it wouldn’t matter!), and I LOVE how they turned out!
